Is this the answer for controlling oily skin?
Hey girls so today I’m talking about Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector. But before I start, I want to ask you girls a question – how many of you suffer from oily skin?
You know that dreaded feeling when your makeups totally on point, and then half way through the day you look in the mirror and that T-Zone is shining brighter then Huda Beauty’s 3D highlighter palette. Yep I know that feeling. Well I put the NEW Murad MattEffect blotting perfector to the test, which claims to control that dreaded oily T-Zone.
Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector
So the Murad MattEffect blotting perfector comes with a cushion compact and translucent marshmallow powder that’s designed to mattify and refresh the skin. The powder claims to absorb up the oil on your skin giving it a perfect matte finish.
How to use it
It can be used as a primer under makeup or on top of makeup to refresh and mattify skin. You lightly press the applicator into the cushion and gently pat it onto the skin concentrating on all those oily areas like the forehead, nose and chin. I found that a little goes a long way with this product.
Lets put it to the test
So I tested out the product on top of my makeup to see if it really refreshes and gets rid of my oily areas. So here’s a picture of my skin a few hours after my makeup had been applied. My skin tends to get oily throughout the day.
I gently pressed the cushion onto my skin concentrating on my oily areas.
You can see the difference that the Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector makes. It literally absorbed the oil from my skin, giving it a refreshed and matte look. The powder controls the amount of oil that breaks out so my skin looked less oily throughout the day. Here’s a before and after so you girls can see the difference.
I was really impressed with how matte my skin looked. The product works instantly so it’s perfect for when you need those quick touch ups. I find that it’s really useful to take to work and the gym to give my skin quick touch ups throughout the day. Another positive is that the product is really compact so it’s easy to carry on the go in your hand bag.
The only negative is that the powder has a liquid texture. So when you apply it on top of makeup the cushion gets covered with makeup. Ideally it would be great if it came with two cushions one to use before makeup and one for on top of makeup. But regardless of this, it’s a fabulous product and definitely combats oily skin.
The Murad MattEffect Blotting Perfector is priced at £32 and can be bought at this link.
