Hey guys, so as you all know I love travelling and one holiday experience that’s always been on my bucket list is a chic ski winter getaway. I’m thinking French Alps, a toasty Chalet overlooking the stunning mountains, open lodge fires, hot chocolates on demand and of course ultimate chic ski style.
So, with ski season, fast approaching whether you’re a skier or not or just looking to relax by the open fire. Here’s my ultimate chic ski style guide for prepping everything you need to rock the slopes in style this season.
On the slopes
The slopes are somewhere where you really don’t want to make fashion sacrifices. There’s nothing worse than freezing hands and lack of appropriate gear. But hey, a girls still gotta look good and thanks to high street and designer fashion, ski wear has come a long way. I’d go for soft and neutral with some statement ski googles, because I think it just oozes style and class.
Off the slopes
There’s more to a ski holiday then just skiing. A day off the slopes can mean a bit of duty free shopping followed by brunch in a mountain café. So, if you’re planning a day off the slopes to explore the mountain sites, I’d go for a cashmere sweater, with a faux fur gilet, a chunky knitted scarf and Ugg boots.
For any one that doesn’t know Après Ski is just all the activities that take place after a day of skiing. And when it comes to social activities like going for dinner, or evening entertainment I’m there. I’m a chic glam girl at heart so I’d go for a gorgeous faux fur cape, paired with some skinny’s and a YSL shoulder bag. I’d probably throw on a Cossack faux fur hat for some added chicness.
A night by the fire
Going skiing doesn’t mean that you have to ski every day. I mean have you seen some of these gorgeous Chalets, I’d happily spend a night in front of the open lodge fire with my hubby. In terms of style inspo go for a cable knitted jumper paired with black leggings and some knitted slippers.
With your #ootds sorted, let’s talk beauty. With sub-zero temperatures and blazing sunshine there are some beauty essentials that you can’t forget when prepping for the slopes. I’m thinking beauty essentials to help avoid sore, dry skin, chapped lips and tan lines from the ski goggles. Your lips may be the only thing on show underneath all the layers, so don’t forget a strong lip shade.
If you’re anything like me, gadgets normally mean anything that will help extend your phone battery life or help you get that ultimate instagram pic. I mean there’s nothing worse than running out of iPhone charge in the middle of instagram stories. My gadget essentials would include my iPhone of course, an iPhone battery case and a selfie stick. My insta hubby would also need to be included…I mean he’s not a gadget or anything but he helps with getting that ultimate insta pic so he’s essential hehe.
Arriving in style
So guys, with your style and essentials on point, think about hopping into one of these bad boys and arriving in style at your ski chalet. I’m definitely a 4X4 kinda girl and something like a BMW X5 would be right up my mountain hill.
Rentalcars.com is a great place to start the search for hiring one of these swanky rides. And the app is so easy to use, you can literally hire a car in 3 simple steps. Just imagine stepping out one of these sassy rides to add to your chic ski style #yassss
